Floor Marking Considerations | The End Results
Line marking is a high visibility product, as such it comes under intense scrutiny and imperfections are always noted.
The majority of ASG Services installations have of course been successful and potential customers have the opportunity to visit existing customer sites to assess the quality of finish and durability of our various solutions. Confidence is founded through the variety of facilities we have completed projects in, which covers a diverse range.
The aesthetics of line marking is reduced with preparation, older damaged floors being the most disappointing because of edge neatness and surface texture. 100mm line marking gives a superior finish to 50mm wide lines because of increased control during installation and at no added cost.
Hard concrete provides best control when preparing the floor, soft makes it more difficult because it is too easy to cut and run of course, unfortunately there is no way of knowing the grade prior to work starting which can result in detail issues later.
Typically we remove 1 to 2mm from the surface, this can alter due to conditions leaving an uneven line surface. In this respect we would try to level any imperfections using a resin, however this is not always possible and can result in an edge or raised area on the floor. This scenario is common with 50mm lines. The same occurs when floor joints are not laid at the same level, affecting the finish when trying to bring the levels of epoxy paint to the different floor levels.
