Floor Marking Considerations | Unprepared Internal Floors

All floor surfaces seem similar but are in fact they are very different.  Each has its own characteristic based on its purpose of use, history and structure.

Applying one-part paints and similar products to an unprepared floor has several benefits. Lines are reasonably straight and of a consistent width, installation timescales are relatively short as solvent based materials dry in a couple of hours depending on the environment and look impressive when completed.

Preparation is generally not used for this method of floor marking which reduces cost, but does mean the paint will not key well to the floor surface.  One-part materials can be removed using certain chemicals which allows the end user flexibility should they wish to redesign their markings, however this also means the product is susceptible to damage with ease, even within 2 - 3 days dependant on the surface and cleanliness.

ASG Services advise their customers to maintain one-part paint lines by cleaning the floor on a regular basis, which removes damage causing dirt, and to retain markings use aerosol line marking paint, this is available from ASG Services and other good suppliers.
