ASG Services, the warehouse identification and floor marking specialists are evolving
ASG Services, the warehouse identification and floor marking specialists are evolving and to aid the process, have appointed Chris Hopkirk as their new Sales Director.
The appointment follows careful planning and development of a new division at ASG which will see the company open a new door and service offering to the warehouse and logistics industry.
Tony Gresty Managing Director of ASG Services commented, “Chris’s position is an important strategic leadership role for our business and the knowledge and expertise Chris brings will help develop our new division and progress other key sales strategies at ASG.
Chris will be heading UK sales as part of a team made up of Matthew Lewis the UK Sales Manger and James Lewis ASG’s Northern Sales Executive, as well as focusing on the new division called WarehouseSafety. Commenting on the new division, Tony Gresty said, “Warehouse Safety is effectively a development of our highly successful floor marking product group, which overtime has seen ASG supply ancillary products such as pedestrian guardrails, traffic barriers, safety signs and other warehouse safety focused products, which create a complete pedestrian safety package for our clients.”
Chris Hopkirk has been a friend of ASG Services for many years, “12 in fact” said Tony, who went on to say, “Chris and I had many open discussions over the years regarding the warehouse and logistics industry as a whole, and surprisingly earlier this year our conversations led to securing Chris as a new asset.”
WarehouseSafety.co.uk and its website, www.warehousesafety.co.uk came online in October 2008 and ran in conjunction with the Logistics Link North event at Doncaster Racecourse, which was a great success and generated interest from the industry and prospects alike.
Chris was previously at Link 51, UK manufacturers of pallet racking, shelving and lockers which has helped to make the transition easier to deal with thanks to similarities in routes-to-market and a familiar contact network. “My decision to move was not easy, but the opportunity to be part of and significantly influence WarehouseSafety made it less difficult.” Chris went on to say, “I have only good things to say about Link51 and the people who work there and as sad as it is, I feel lucky to be leaving friends and not foes.”
